can you tell the difference?

Pension Scams are becoming more and more frequent in this digital age. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) have recently sent out a stark warning targeted at individuals approaching retirement.

Unfortunately, some of these scams – letters, emails, texts, phone calls, adverts – look and sound professional and perhaps read true to your circumstances; you feel as though they must be real. Because of this, it’s important to do research and learn more about your pension so that you know it’s in safe hands.

A few red flags include unsolicited approaches, maybe unknown numbers, personal email addresses, they might be encouraging you to make a quick decision or ask you to click something online… arrangements which sound too good to be true, probably are!

Never click on something or give away your personal information unless you recognise and trust the source.

To offer reassurance, we display our FCA number in emails, on all documentation and on our website to demonstrate our pension support is credible and legitimate. You can also take a look at our FCA listing here.
